FlyWP includes a global Command Palette available from every page — not just while you’re inside a site. Open it from anywhere in your dashboard to jump straight to a server, a site, a domain, or any setting, without clicking through menus.
What it does
Instead of navigating Servers → your server → your site → Security → scrolling to find Basic Auth, you can open the palette and just type “basic auth” — it takes you directly to that setting.
The palette searches across:
- Navigation — every page in the sidebar, for both servers and sites (Overview, Settings, Security, Caching, SFTP, Deployment, SSL, and more)
- Specific settings and sections within those pages — things like Firewall Protection, Object Cache, PHP version, Redis, SMTP, WordPress core updates, and dozens of other named options
- Your servers, sites, and domains — search by name, domain, or even a server’s IP address
- Common synonyms — “invoice” finds Billing, “patchstack” finds FlySecurity Pro, “https” or “renew certificate” find SSL
How to open it
The Command Palette opens from anywhere in the FlyWP dashboard — the dashboard home, your servers list, a specific server, a specific site, team settings, or your profile. Three ways to bring it up:
- Click the Search… box in the header or sidebar
- Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux)
- Press / — as long as you’re not currently typing in another field
With an empty query, you’ll see your Recently visited pages along with a few Suggestions to help you get around.
Using search
Start typing and results update instantly, split into groups:
- Menu — top-level pages and navigation entries
- Servers / Sites / Domains — your actual infrastructure, matched by name, domain, or IP
- Pages & options — specific settings within a page
Use ↑ and ↓ to move between results, ↵ (Enter) to open the highlighted one, and Esc to close the dialog at any time. Search is flexible with partial matches and related terms — you don’t need to type a setting’s exact name.
Drilling down
You can search for a page inside a specific site directly — type something like “marketing-site settings” and the palette takes you straight to that site’s Settings page, skipping the usual Server → Site → Page navigation.
Scoping to a server or site
If you want to search within one server or site instead of across your whole account, press Tab or Enter on that server or site’s result row to turn it into a chip. Once a chip is applied, only that resource’s pages and children are searchable.
- Chips stack up to two levels:
server › site. - With an empty query, a chip lists its children — chip a server with 8 sites and you’ll see all 8.
- Press ⌦ (Backspace) on an empty query to pop the most recent chip. Backspace while you still have text in the query just edits the text.
- Click a chip’s × to remove it — removing the server chip also removes any site chipped underneath it.
- Changed your mind? The “Search everywhere for ‘…’” option clears your chips and keeps whatever you’d typed, so you can broaden the search without retyping.

A note on site status
If a site is sleeping or being deleted, most of its settings are temporarily unavailable — in that case, search will only surface that site’s Overview page, since that’s the only page you can access until the site is active again.
Notes
- Search only shows results for servers, sites, and settings you actually have access to, based on your role and permissions — you won’t see resources from other teams or pages you’re not allowed to open.
- Your recently visited pages are stored locally in your browser, so they’re specific to the device you’re using, and specific to the account you’re logged in as.
- If you run into a setting that search doesn’t find, or a term that doesn’t turn up the page you expect, let our support team know — we’re always refining the search index.
