FlyWP Managed vs. Bring Your Own Server
Two ways to run managed cloud servers on FlyWP. Pick per server, based on how you want to handle infrastructure.
Bring Your Own Server (BYOS)

Neither option has a server limit. AWS, Hetzner, and custom servers are available through Bring Your Own Server only.
From provider to live server in four steps
Connecting a provider only links it to FlyWP. Nothing is created until you launch a server.
Step 1: Choose a deployment mode
Open Create Server and pick FlyWP Managed (Flexible) or Bring Your Own Server.
Step 2: Connect your provider
BYOS only: in Settings > Server Providers, click Add Provider and add your API credentials. Managed needs none.
Step 3: Configure the server
Select the provider, then a size and region. For a custom server, enter its IP address, SSH port, and hostname.
Step 4: Launch and manage
Click Launch Server. Your new server appears in the same FlyWP dashboard as the rest.

Which cloud providers does FlyWP support?
FlyWP Managed runs on DigitalOcean, Vultr, and Akamai. Bring Your Own Server supports DigitalOcean, Vultr, AWS EC2, Akamai, Hetzner, and any compatible custom VPS or bare-metal server connected over SSH. See the server provider documentation for each setup guide.
Can I use AWS or Hetzner with FlyWP Managed?
No. AWS EC2 and Hetzner are available through Bring Your Own Server only. FlyWP Managed currently runs on DigitalOcean, Vultr, and Akamai. Read the Amazon EC2 or Hetzner guide to connect yours.
What is Bring Your Own Server (BYOS)?
Bring Your Own Server means you keep your own account with a cloud provider and connect it to FlyWP. You pay the provider directly, plus FlyWP’s per-server management fee, and FlyWP manages the server and its WordPress sites.
How does billing differ between Managed and BYOS?
With FlyWP Managed, server costs are billed through FlyWP in one bill with no additional management fee. With BYOS, you pay your cloud provider directly and pay FlyWP’s applicable per-server management fee. See FlyWP pricing.
Do I need API keys to create a server?
Not for FlyWP Managed, which needs no provider account or API keys. For BYOS you add credentials from your provider: a Personal Access Token for DigitalOcean and Akamai, an API key for Vultr, a Cloud API token for Hetzner, or an IAM Access Key ID and Secret Access Key for AWS EC2.
Can I connect a custom VPS or bare-metal server?
Yes. Any compatible VPS or bare-metal server with a fresh Ubuntu install can be connected over SSH using its IP address, SSH port, and hostname. See the custom server guide.
Is there a limit on how many servers I can add?
No. Neither FlyWP Managed nor Bring Your Own Server has a server limit.
Does connecting a provider create a server automatically?
No. Connecting a provider only links your account to FlyWP. A server is created only when you configure one and click Launch Server.
