1. Announcement Overview
FlyWP is introducing a new billing model designed to make pricing simpler, more transparent, and easier to scale.
Instead of traditional tiered plans, FlyWP billing will move to a server-based pricing model, where customers pay only for the number of servers they manage.
This billing update affects different groups of FlyWP users in different ways.
New FlyWP Users
- All new accounts created after April 1, 2026 will use the new server-based pricing model.
Existing Subscription Customers
- Current plan users can continue using their existing plan until their current subscription cycle.
- After that, users will be migrated to the new server-based pricing model.
FlyWP Managed Server Users
- Managed server customers will not require a FlyWP platform subscription anymore.
Lifetime Deal Customers
- Lifetime deals remain unaffected by this change.
Effective Date: 01 April 2026
Summary of the Update
- Plan-based pricing will be removed.
- Billing will be calculated based on the number of servers managed in FlyWP.
- All features will become available to all users, excluding addons.
- Pricing will scale automatically as infrastructure grows.
This change is designed to reduce complexity, remove feature restrictions, and align pricing with real infrastructure usage.
2. Why We’re Making This Change
Over time, FlyWP has evolved to support a wide range of users, from solo developers to agencies managing dozens of servers. Our previous pricing structure introduced limitations that didn’t always reflect how users actually scale their infrastructure.
The new billing model addresses these challenges by focusing on simplicity, fairness, and scalability.
Simplifying FlyWP Pricing
The previous plan-based system required users to choose between predefined tiers. While this worked initially, it created unnecessary complexity when users needed to scale.
The new model removes this friction by making pricing directly proportional to the number of servers managed.
Removing Feature Restrictions
Previously, certain features were tied to higher-tier plans. With the new model:
- All features are available to all users
- No feature-based restrictions
- No need to upgrade plans to unlock features
Aligning Cost With Infrastructure Usage
FlyWP usage typically grows with infrastructure. Agencies and developers add servers as they scale client projects.
The new pricing ensures that cost grows naturally alongside infrastructure, rather than requiring plan upgrades.
Supporting Agencies and Growing Teams
Agencies often manage multiple servers across different projects. The new billing system introduces progressive pricing, which automatically lowers per-server cost as the number of servers increases.
Improving Long-Term Pricing Transparency
With server-based billing:
- Pricing is predictable
- Scaling is automatic
- Users only pay for what they actually use
This creates a clear, transparent pricing structure for long-term growth.
3. What’s Changing
3.1 Moving Away From Plan-Based Pricing
FlyWP will no longer offer the traditional subscription tiers:
- Hobby Plan
- Growth Plan
- Business Plan
Instead, billing will be calculated based on the number of servers managed through FlyWP.
This removes the need for plan upgrades and makes pricing more flexible for users managing multiple environments.
3.2 New Per-Server Pricing
The new billing structure uses progressive pricing.
| Servers Managed | Price Per Server |
|---|---|
| 1–3 Servers | $5 / server |
| 4–9 Servers | $4 / server |
| 10+ Servers | $3 / server |
Key Benefits
Progressive Pricing
As the number of servers increases, the cost per server decreases automatically.
Automatic Cost Reduction
Users managing larger infrastructures will benefit from lower per-server pricing without needing to upgrade or switch plans.
No Tier Upgrades
There are no pricing tiers. The system automatically calculates billing based on the total number of active servers.
3.3 No Subscription on Managed Servers
For FlyWP Managed Servers, there will be no FlyWP subscription fee.
You will be able to provision and manage servers directly through FlyWP with greater flexibility. Choose your preferred cloud provider (DO, Vultr, Akamai), configure your stack, and maintain full control while FlyWP handles the heavy lifting.
Previously, you needed to pay separately for FlyWP and your cloud provider. Now, everything is simplified into one payment through FlyWP. There’s no need to pay for the FlyWP control panel separately; you’ll get the server and the FlyWP panel together in a single payment.
Everything is managed in one place, giving you a simpler and more streamlined WordPress hosting experience at an affordable price.
This means:
- No additional FlyWP platform subscription
- Billing is tied directly to the server infrastructure
- Simple, transparent pricing for managed environments
4. What’s NOT Changing
While the billing model is evolving, the core FlyWP platform experience remains the same.
The following features and capabilities will continue exactly as before:
- Unlimited WordPress sites per server
- The same server management workflow
- The existing performance stack
- Security and deployment tools
- Automation and developer utilities
FlyWP will continue to include the same powerful performance stack, including:
- Nginx
- LiteSpeed
- Redis
- Optimized WordPress configuration
Your workflows, deployments, and existing environments will remain unaffected.
5. No More Feature Lock
One of the biggest improvements in the new billing model is the removal of feature-based restrictions.
All FlyWP features will now be available to every user, regardless of the number of servers they manage.
What This Means
- No premium feature tiers
- No restricted tools
- No forced plan upgrades to unlock functionality
Included Features
Every FlyWP user will have access to the full platform, including:
- Git deployment
- Redis caching
- SSH access
- WordPress Multisite support
- Backup management
- Magic login
- Bulk WordPress updates
- Instant demo sites
This ensures equal access to the full FlyWP experience for developers, agencies, and teams of any size.
6. How Billing Will Work
6.1 Server-Based Billing
Billing will now be calculated based on active servers managed in FlyWP.
Each active server contributes to the total monthly billing amount according to the pricing table.
No plan upgrades or manual changes are required.
6.2 Automatic Scaling
The billing system automatically adjusts based on infrastructure.
Adding servers
- Increases the total monthly cost
Removing servers
- Decreases the total monthly cost
This allows users to scale infrastructure freely without worrying about plan limitations.
6.3 Billing Cycle
FlyWP will operate on a monthly billing cycle.
At this time:
- No annual billing option
- Charges calculated monthly
- Billing adjusts automatically based on real-time server count and usage
7. What Existing Customers Need to Do
7.1 Existing Plan Users
Current FlyWP users can continue using their existing plans temporarily. (Till Current Subscription Ends)
There will be no immediate disruption to existing subscriptions.
Users will have the option to migrate to the new server-based pricing model when it becomes available.
7.2 Migration Process
When migration opens:
- Users will see the option to switch to the new pricing model.
- Migration can be completed from the FlyWP billing dashboard.
- After switching, billing will be calculated based on the number of active servers.
Further instructions will be provided when the migration process is released.
