FlyWP is a customizable managed hosting platform and cloud server control panel for WordPress. Choose to bring your own server or host directly through FlyWP – both with a simplified, managed experience.
FlyWP is primarily optimized for WordPress hosting and management.
However, you can deploy other PHP-based applications, but advanced configurations may require manual setup.
It depends on how you use FlyWP:
BYOS (Bring Your Own Server): You pay your cloud provider directly and FlyWP separately.
FlyWP Managed: You pay one combined fee to FlyWP, which includes both the server and the control panel – no separate billing required.
Yes, FlyWP fully supports multisite installations. You can create and manage multisite networks directly from the FlyWP dashboard, whether on subdomains or sub-directories.
Yes, FlyWP allows you to manage and host multiple websites on a single server. The number of websites depends on your server’s capacity, making FlyWP an ideal solution for managing multiple WordPress sites efficiently.
FlyWP offers a flexible backup system where you can add an external backup provider and set up automated backups and restore accordingly.
Yes, FlyWP allows you to set up email gateways for specific sites. You can choose from popular options like PostMark, Sendgrid, and Mailgun, or configure a custom SMTP server for email sending
We currently have Google Cloud, Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, Amazon S3, and other S3-compatible storage options. For other options, you can submit a feature request. If enough people want it – we may build it. We have a plan for SFTP backup support on the horizon.
No – FlyWP does not support shared hosting.
From FlyWP’s official documentation, it only works with:
– VPS servers
– Cloud providers like DigitalOcean, AWS, Vultr, Hetzner, etc.
– Custom servers via SSH
Sorry, not right now. Nor do we plan to add Apache server support anytime soon. Thank you for considering FlyWP! Your feedback is truly appreciated.
No, you cannot connect cPanel/or use cPanel with FlyWP. These are different platforms altogether with different purposes. FlyWP is made from the ground up for hosting WordPress sites only and replaces the need for cPanel.
FlyWP allows you to add a custom server besides integrated server provider options (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Amazon EC2, Hetzner, and Akamai). You can check our docs for more info.
FlyWP doesn’t have the server migration feature at the moment. We will work on it, hopefully. For site migration, follow our documentation.
Backups are stored in remote locations that you add. Currently, we support AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean Spaces, Wasabi, and any S3-compatible storage providers.
We recommend a fresh VPS with at least 2 vCPUs and 2GB of RAM. FlyWP supports Ubuntu 22.04 along with ARM64 architecture. Other server types, such as Debian and Windows, are not currently supported.
No. This is not expected behavior, even for containerized services. We do not observe “missing config file” warnings on any of our production servers.
If you’re encountering this issue, please share additional details or the full Lynis report so our team can investigate further.
Not necessarily. On many modern Linux distributions, security repositories are configured under /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ rather than directly in /etc/apt/sources.list.
This finding may therefore be a false positive. However, if no security repositories are configured in either location, it may indicate a misconfiguration in the server provider’s base image. In such cases, we recommend reviewing the APT sources or contacting FlyWP support for verification.

No. If you deploy servers through FlyWP, everything is combined into one simple payment. If you bring your own server (BYOS), you’ll continue paying your cloud provider separately.
It’s a new way to deploy servers directly through FlyWP. You choose your cloud provider (DigitalOcean, Vultr, or Akamai), configure your stack, and FlyWP handles setup, environment, and integrations – all in one place.
Yes. Whether you use your own server or are managed through FlyWP, you get full root/SSH access and complete control over your server environment.
No. All core FlyWP features are available on every server – even if you’re running a single $5 server. Only add-ons remain separate.
Yes. You can host unlimited websites on all servers without any restrictions.
You only pay for the number of servers you manage with FlyWP.
There are no tier upgrades – your cost scales based on actual usage.
BYOS (Bring Your Own Server): You connect your own cloud server and manage it via FlyWP
FlyWP-Managed: You deploy servers directly through FlyWP with simplified billing and managed setup
