New in FlyWP: Smarter Backup Management, Secure Support Sessions & More

This release brings major improvements across all three areas. You can now update backup credentials once and automatically propagate them across connected servers, verify backup destinations before saving, and give support staff temporary, auditable access through customer-controlled support sessions.

🚀 New Features:

Backup Provider Credential Updates + Automatic Fan-Out

Updating backup credentials across multiple servers just became much easier.

You can now update your backup provider credentials from a single place, and FlyWP automatically propagates the updated profile to every server connected to that integration.

No more updating credentials server by server.

Secure Support Sessions

We’ve redesigned how support access works.

Instead of traditional impersonation, FlyWP now requires a customer-generated code before a support session can begin.

Every support session is:

• Customer-authorized
• Time-limited
• Revocable
• Fully audited

This gives our support team the access they need to help troubleshoot issues while giving customers greater control and visibility over when that access is granted.

Better support shouldn’t mean less control.

Backup Destination Verification

You shouldn’t discover that a backup destination is broken when you actually need to restore from it.

FlyWP now verifies backup destinations when you save your backup settings by writing, reading, and deleting a probe file before the configuration is persisted.

If you need to proceed despite the verification result, you can still use the Save anyway option for edge cases.

✨ Enhancement:

• One-Time Quick-Start Video for New Accounts: Existing OpenLiteSpeed sites now receive PHP session garbage collection automatically. This backfill helps clean up old PHP session data on long-running sites, keeping them cleaner and helping maintain performance over time.

🔧 Bug Fixes & Reliability Improvements:

• Uptime Monitor Rework: We’ve improved the underlying uptime monitoring system for a more reliable monitoring experience.
• Correct HTTPS Rewrites on Certificate Activation: Certificate activation now correctly updates WordPress siteurl and home values to HTTPS across classic WordPress, Multisite, and Bedrock sites, not just at the proxy layer.
• Hardened FQDN Validation: Improved fully qualified domain name validation for safer and more reliable domain management.
• Better Migration Error Handling: Improved error handling for database and file migrations, making failed migration operations easier to understand and troubleshoot.
• Email Change 500 Error Fix: Resolved an issue that could cause email address changes to fail with a 500 server error.
• pCloud Folder Safety: pCloud backups now avoid writing to the account root when the configured folder ID cannot be read, preventing unwanted files from being created in the wrong location.
• More Accurate DigitalOcean Credential Errors: DigitalOcean credential failures now return the actual reason for the error instead of the generic “Invalid API key” message, making troubleshooting much faster.
• Advanced Security Constants: Advanced Security settings now correctly apply the corresponding WordPress security constants, including DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT and DISALLOW_FILE_MODS, directly to wp-config.php.
