Moving and managing sites should be flexible without introducing unnecessary risk.
This FlyWP release improves Clone & Transfer with full file-scope support while adding several safeguards and reliability improvements across site transfers, restores, DNS, teams, and BYOS servers.
🚀 New Features:
Clone & Transfer with Full File Scope
Clone and transfer workflows are now more flexible.
You can now choose to copy the full app/public directory when cloning or transferring a site, giving you greater control over exactly what moves with your application.
This is especially useful when your site contains additional files within the public directory that need to be preserved during a clone or migration.
More control over what gets transferred.
Bug Fixes & Improvements:
- PHP Session Garbage Collection Backfill on OpenLiteSpeed: Existing OpenLiteSpeed sites now receive PHP session garbage collection automatically. This backfill helps clean up old PHP session data on long-running sites, keeping them cleaner and helping maintain performance over time.
- SSL-less Site Transfer Support: Site transfers no longer require an SSL certificate to proceed. FlyWP can now gracefully handle sites without SSL, removing a common blocker when migrating legacy or pre-SSL environments.
- Safer Team Deletion: Team deletion now includes additional safeguards. A team cannot be deleted while it still owns active servers, sites, or unpaid invoices. This helps prevent accidental data loss and avoids unexpected billing issues.
- Multisite Cloning Safeguard: FlyWP now blocks cloning for WordPress Multisite networks. This safeguard prevents potentially broken network configurations and protects users from difficult-to-recover cloning operations.
- More Reliable Restore State Handling: Restore operations now handle their completion state more reliably. Success callbacks are triggered before local snapshot cleanup, preventing restore operations from getting stuck in an incomplete state.
- More Precise DNS Zone Matching: DNS zone matching has been refined to use exact domain-label boundaries rather than matching any shared suffix. This prevents false matches and ensures DNS operations target the correct zone.
- Force-Delete for BYOS Servers: BYOS servers can now be force-deleted even when the cloud provider API is unavailable or returns an error. This prevents orphaned infrastructure from getting stuck in FlyWP simply because the provider API cannot complete the deletion request.
