v2026.36

New in FlyWP: Smarter Backup Notifications, Built-In Basic Auth & Safer Updates

We’ve rolled out a new FlyWP update focused on flexibility, control, and performance improvements. This release enhances backup alerting, WordPress update management, migration safety, and cloud upload performance.

Let’s break down what’s new 👇

⭐ Highlight of the Release

Configurable Backup Notifications

You can now configure backup notifications with more flexibility. Get alerted the way you want, ensuring you never miss important backup events. This gives you better visibility and stronger operational confidence.

HTTP Basic Authentication Support

Basic Auth is now supported inside FlyWP. Add an extra layer of protection to your sites quickly and easily – ideal for staging environments, private projects, or development workflows.

To enable this: Go to Site > Security settings> Scroll down > Enable HTTP Basic Authentication

🌿 Enhancements:

We’ve strengthened core system behaviors to eliminate edge-case issues and improve overall platform reliability.

  • More Control Over WP Core Updates: We’ve added extended control options for WordPress core updates. Now you can better manage how and when WordPress core updates happen – giving you improved stability and version control across projects.
  • Safer Search-Replace During Migrations: Search-replace operations can now be limited to the options table only. This makes migrations safer by reducing unintended data modifications and improving reliability during site transfers.

🛠 Bug Fixes:

  • Migrator Plugin Reinstallation on WP Authorization: We fixed an issue where the migrator plugin wasn’t properly restored after WordPress authorization. Now it automatically reinstalls to ensure smooth migration workflows.
  • Improved pCloud Upload Performance: Resolved performance bottlenecks causing slow uploads to pCloud. Backups to pCloud should now complete significantly faster and more reliably.

Wrapping Up

This release is all about control, flexibility, and reliability.

With configurable backup notifications, you stay informed on your terms. With HTTP Basic Authentication, you add instant protection to sensitive environments. And with continued improvements to updates, migrations, and cloud performance, your WordPress infrastructure becomes even more stable.

As always, we’ll continue refining FlyWP based on real-world usage and community feedback. If you encounter anything unexpected or have suggestions, feel free to share them with us. More improvements are on the way
